Terms of Use
These terms are the rules for using the Proof Panda app. We've tried to write them in plain language. By using the app, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
1. Who we are
Proof Panda is made by Pondering Phoenix, a sole proprietorship in Ontario, Canada ("we", "us"). You can reach us at [email protected].
2. Using the app
- You can use Proof Panda for free, for your own personal use.
- Proof Panda is meant for people aged 13 and older. Children under 13 should use it only with a parent or guardian.
- Please use the app lawfully. Don't try to break it, copy it to sell, or get around the Pro upgrade.
- The app, its name, its panda, and its design belong to us. Your receipts, notes, and documents belong to you.
3. The numbers are estimates, not advice
Proof Panda shows figures like "safe to spend", budget totals, savings goals, debt payoff dates, and tax summaries. These are estimates. They are worked out from what you type in, and they can be wrong if the details are missing or out of date, or if the app has a mistake.
Proof Panda is a tool to help you keep track. It is not financial, tax, legal, or investment advice, and we are not advisors. Before a big money decision, check with a qualified person. If money feels tight, our money help page explains who you can talk to in Canada.
4. Your data and backups
Everything you add stays on your device. We don't have a copy. That keeps it private, but it also means that if your phone is lost, broken, or reset, we can't get your data back. Use the backup feature in the app and keep your backup file somewhere safe. If you set a Password Vault passphrase and forget it, nobody can open those entries, including us.

5. Pro: pay once
- Pro is an optional upgrade. You pay for it once. There is no subscription and no repeat charge.
- You buy Pro through the Apple App Store or Google Play. They take the payment, show you the price in your currency, and handle refunds under their own rules. We never see your card details.
- Pro stays linked to the Apple Account or Google account you bought it with. You can restore it for free on a new phone that uses the same account and the same store.
- We may add, change, or improve features over time, in both the free app and Pro.
6. App store terms
If you got Proof Panda from the Apple App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. If you got it from Google Play, the Google Play Terms of Service also apply. If those terms and ours disagree about a purchase or a refund, the store's terms win.
7. "As is"
We work hard to make Proof Panda reliable, but we can't promise it will always work perfectly, never lose data, or be free of mistakes. The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without extra promises beyond what the law requires.
As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for losses that come from using the app or relying on its numbers, such as a missed bill, a lost receipt, or a money decision. If we are found responsible for something, our total responsibility is limited to what you paid us for Pro.
Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under consumer protection laws where you live, including Ontario's Consumer Protection Act.
8. Changes and ending
We may update these terms. When we do, we'll change the date at the top of this page. If you keep using the app after that, the new terms apply. You can stop using Proof Panda at any time by deleting your data and uninstalling the app.
9. Which law applies
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Any dispute will be handled by the courts of Ontario, unless the consumer laws where you live give you the right to use your local courts.
